
Her Outdoors Week
Well done to all 233 women and girls took part in the Her Outdoors Week in 2025. Working with partners and stakeholders with a view of providing adventure activities in the great outdoors.
Snorkeling for Women – led by Alpha Dives Club in Lough Lene, eight women took part in this innovative workshop.
Trail Run in Mullahgmeen Forest – an opportunity for people new to trail running with course from 2k – 5k supported by St. Brigids Athletic Club.
Youth Orienteering – Spire of Lloyd -linking with Orienteering Ireland and local groups: Kells Family Resource Centre, Smart Project and Propser in Kells, this two-hour programme covered map reading, games and virtual orienteering using the MapRun App.
Inclusive Canoeing for Mothers & Girls. This initiative for mothers and their daughters with a disability covered water safety skill and the opportunity to play water games while canoeing on the canal with Ribbontail Paddlers.
Women on Water –In collaboration with Trim Canoe Club, this programme provided the opportunity for women to try canoeing and paddle sports with some fun games on the water.
Activator Pole Walking for older women. This 4-week programme focused on promoting long term fitness and independence through increasing balance and functionality using the Activator Walking Poles.
Cycling Event for women – Two-hour event on the Boyne to Lakelands Greenway whic included a Bike Safety Check with qualified Bike Ride Leaders from Bohermeen Cycling Club
Archery for women and girls – this event was held in An Tobar just outside Navan and was delivered by Athboy Archery Club.
Her Moves Beach Event for teenage girls – beach event to include Beach Volleyball, Beach Handball, Beach Hockey and Sea Kayaking.
Yoga & Dip – held in Bettystown beach with a yoga class followed by a refreshing dip in the sea
Open Water Sea Swim – held in Laytown in collaboration with Swim Ireland tutors to enable swimmers with the knowledge to be comfortable swimming in the open sea.
