Community Walks Fund 2026

CRITERIA

One of the aims of Meath Local Sports Partnership (Meath LSP) is to support sports club volunteers and the development of opportunities for people to participate in organised sport and physical activity.

Clubs are invited to submit an application for funding to support them to co-ordinate a 6 Week Community Walks Programme in their club for club members and the wider community. The walks must commence the week of the 12th of January 2026.

Monday 8th December 2025

* Sports Clubs will be notified of the Grant Committee’s decision by Monday 15th December 2025

Who can apply? – Suitable Applicants

  • Sports Clubs based in Meath and affiliated to a Sport Ireland recognised national governing body, proof to be provided if requested.

Funding Guidelines

  • Funding awarded to successful applicants will range up to a maximum of €300.
  • Community Walks must take place minimum weekly for 6 weeks.
  • Community Walks must be open to all club members and non-members from the local community.
  • Community Walks must be FREE to participants.
  • Meath Local Sports Partnership logo must be used on all advertising & promotional materials.
  • Clubs/ organisations must indemnify Meath Local Sports Partnership in respect of any legal liability, loss, claim, or proceedings arising out of or in connection with death and/or bodily injury to any persons and/or loss or damage to any property which arises directly or indirectly out of the club’s co-ordination of Community Walks. Meath Local Sports Partnership shall not be liable for any claims arising from the event.
  • Applicants must have appropriate insurance cover in place, proof to be provided if requested.

Grant Information

  • Full funding will be paid to each successful applicant following the completion of the 6-week programme.
  • Successful applicants are encouraged to tag Meath LSP on social media during each weekly walk.
  • Each application will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
  • The decision of the funding committee is final.
  • Proof of expenditure may be requested.

GAA Clubs are encouraged to register to participate in “Ireland’s Light Up” campaign 2026

Successful Applicants

  • Successful applicants must comply with any reasonable request regarding publicity from Meath LSP.
  • Successful applicants must capture a minimum of two quality images of their Community Walk Programme. Please ensure consent is received from participants for Meath LSP to share on social media.
  • Successful applicants must keep a record of numbers attending the walks weekly.
  • Successful applicants must complete and return the Meath LSP report form before Friday 27th February 2026.
