iRun for Fun for Secondary Schools

iRunForFun is an Athletics Ireland initiative that Meath LSP are proud to promote in post primary school in Meath. iRunForFun is a recreational running programme that takes place over an initial 6-week period and has been designed to encourage students to actively engage in physical activity as part of their school day.  It is aimed towards students from 13+ years and takes just 20 minutes to complete every day.

Description: This programme aims to increase activity levels of entire schools by encouraging engagement in recreational running in students of all levels of fitness. It also aims to give students an increased awareness of the importance of living an active and healthy lifestyle. There are three levels available to participants which cater for beginner, intermediate, and advanced runners. Each student receives a diary to record their activity while also providing students with training tips, nutrition and advice on goal setting.
