Kells is all set to go for the Royal County 5k & 10k event on May 2nd Bank Holiday Monday!

The much-anticipated Royal County event returns to Kells on the May Bank Holiday Monday this year. It’s the 11th year of this hugely popular event. Once again there are two distances for people to enter – 5km & 10km, participants are welcome to walk, run or jog the events. For the competitive runners, prizes will be awarded to top male and female finishers.

We will continue to offer a virtual aspect to the event and invite anyone who wishes to take part in the Royal County but would prefer to do so from the comfort of their locality or the day or time offered doesn`t suit – well then, this virtual option might work for you.

Registration is currently open for this year`s Royal County

You are encouraged to register before 19th April to ensure you receive your t-shirt and event number in the post in time for the event on the Bank Holiday Monday in May. Check out the website and facebook pages for a sneak preview of the tee shirt! The brightly electric shade of yellow chosen for the tee shirt design, ensures you remain highly visible while continuing to exercise out and about in your local area.

Perhaps you`d love to complete a 5k or 10k event but need support in reaching those targets, Meath LSP have designed podcasts and in person programmes which will help you reach your goal of completing a 5k or 10k distance…all in time for the Royal County event in May. Contact Meath LSP office for further details – 046 9067337.

Every year we enjoy the support of our key partners and 2022 will be no different. We are thankful to the following partners for their continued support – Headfort Arms Hotel; Kells Gardai; Meath County Council; Kells AC; St Brigid`s AC,  Club Active, Kells; Meath Civil Defence and local volunteers.

Anyone interested in participating in the 2022 Royal County event should register now (avoid disappointment of not having t-shirt in time for the event)!
