Meath Local Sports Partnership in association with Meath County Council are providing two Beach Wheelchairs for public use at Bettystown Beach. The Beach Wheelchairs will assist people with a physical disability and those with reduced mobility in accessing the beach and water. The two chairs – the Terra Wheels beach wheelchair is a durable wheelchair and is easily propelled by an attendant using the push handle; the Hippocampe is a beach friendly wheelchair allowing users to go into the water and swim while the chair floats.

Meath LSP have developed a registration platform to allow users to pre-book the wheelchairs – this will be managed on a daily basis by the beach wardens. Pre-booking is essential, see the booking page
