Hockey Ireland is hosting a Fundamentals of Coaching Hockey (FOCH) course on Sunday 20th September at Navan Hockey Club.
As the first mandatory step for new and aspiring coaches, this course provides an excellent introduction to coaching hockey and forms the foundation of Hockey Ireland’s coach education pathway.
Participants will gain an understanding of the key principles of coaching, child-centred coaching practices, session planning, communication skills, and the creation of fun, safe and engaging environments for players. The course combines both theory and practical activities, equipping coaches with the confidence and skills needed to begin their coaching journey and support player development at grassroots level.
