Women in Sport Leadership Programme 2026

Meath LSP is delighted to once again to support women in taking on leadership roles in sport through the Women in Sport Leadership Development Programme 2026. This exciting programme is designed for women who are ready to take the next step in their leadership journey.

Who Should Apply?

Do you know a woman aged 18+ who volunteers in a sports club or organisation, or are you one yourself, interested in developing leadership skills?

We invite clubs to nominate a female member who is:

• A member, coach, volunteer, or parent interested in building confidence, developing leadership skills, and expanding their network.
• Someone with leadership potential who would benefit from encouragement and support.
• A volunteer or coach ready to contribute more to their club and take on greater responsibility.

Programme Details

Start Date: Wednesday 16^th September

Format:

• 8 modules delivered through a blend of online and in-person sessions
• 6 Wednesday evenings (7pm to 9pm)
• 2 Saturdays (half day – lunch included)

Highlights:

• Interactive leadership development sessions
• A unique equine-centred workshop designed to help participants explore their leadership style, build confidence, and unlock their potential

Cost: €50 per participant
(Subsidised through the Sport Ireland Dormant Accounts Volunteer Support Programme)

Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be aged 18 or over
• Be nominated by their club
• Hold, or be interested in taking on, a volunteer role within their club
• Commit to attending all programme sessions
• Pay the subsidised programme fee when notified of successful application

This programme offers a valuable opportunity for women in Meath to develop the skills, confidence, and connections needed to become future leaders in sport.
