DESCRIPTION:Date: 26/11/2022 09:30 – 16:00\n\n\n\n\nRequirements\nCoach should be coaching in the Adult game and must have completed child welfare / safeguarding workshop. Participants should be aged 16 or over. All FAI Education should start with a Safeguarding 1 course and all participants must be FAI Garda Vetted. The course will take place in a classroom and on either grass or all-weather depending on the weather. You should also bring a packed lunch with you. Participants will be asked to abide by the Code of Ethics / Conduct in Soccer and the Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Sport in Ireland. Participants must also agree to abide by the rules laid down by the Football Association of Ireland and its staff. Participants should ensure that all necessary personal and health insurance is arranged prior to and for the full duration of the course.\n\n\nContents\nA link\, along with the meeting ID and password\, to the course will be emailed to the email address you provide on the evening before or morning of the course. To access this course\, you will need to click on the link or access via the meeting ID and password provided to you. On completion of the course\, a certificate of attendance will be emailed to the email address you have provided.\n\n\nGoals\nThe course is designed to assist coaches working within the adult amateur game in acquiring the specific knowledge for the development of players working within the adult game. The course is aimed at providing the coach with knowledge\, skills and competence to coach at this level.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNote\nAny cancellations must be notified by email to Coach Education: coached@fai.ie a minimum of 48 hours prior to the course. Participants\, who have paid for a course\, shall not be entitled to refund if they are unable to attend a course. DESCRIPTION:The third part of the ISC Child Welfare & Protection Training Programme is the Designated Liaison Person workshop. \nEvery club/organisation should designate a person to be responsible for dealing with any concerns about the protection of children. The Designated Liaison Person is responsible for reporting allegations or suspicions of child abuse to TUSLA Child and Family Agency and/or An Garda Siochána. It is recommended that this person is a senior club person. However\, if there is difficulty identifying a separate individual to take this role\, the Club Children’s Officer can be appointed as Designated Liaison Person once the club/organisation is clear about the responsibilities of each role. The organisation’s child protection policy and procedures should include the name and contact details of the Designated Liaison Person and the responsibilities attached to the role. \nA person appointed to the Designated Liaison Person position in a club must have completed the Basic Awareness Workshop in Child Welfare & Protection and should complete the NEW Designated Liaison Person 3 hour workshop. \nIt is essential that those who wish to attend the Safeguarding 3 Designated Liaison Person (DLP) Training have attended the Safeguarding 1 Child Welfare & Protection Workshop. \nA club may appoint the same person to both the CCO and DLP positions however best practice advises that they are kept as separate roles. \nCost: The cost for this course is €20 per person for clubs in Meath\, for participants outside Meath the cost is €30 per person. \nTo book: Please contact Lynn on 046-9067337 or email lynn.oreilly@meathcoco.ie \n*A laptop/ipad/smart phone along with a good internet connection is required for this course. \nAs demand for places is high\, please make every effort to give enough notice of cancellation. DESCRIPTION:Recommendations from Sport Ireland are that every club involved with children and young people should appoint a Club Children’s Officer. This person should be child centered in focus and should have as their primary aim the establishment of a child centered ethos within the club. They are the link between the children and the adults in the club and also take responsibility for monitoring and reporting to the Club Management Committee on how club policy etc. impacts on children and their Sports Leaders. \nThe Club Children’s Officer should have the following functions: \n\nTo promote awareness of the Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Children’s Sport in Ireland within the club and particularly among the children and their parents/guardians. This could be achieved by the production of information leaflets\, the establishment of children’s/age-group specific notice boards and by regular information meetings for the children and their parents/guardians.\nTo influence policy and practice within the club in order to prioritise children’s needs.\nTo provide an accessible resource to children through the creation of forums.\n\nIt is essential that those who wish to attend the Safeguarding 2 Club Children’s Officer (CCO) Training have attended the Safeguarding 1 Awareness/Child Protection Training workshop. \nIt is recommended to have at least one Club Children’s Officer per club or if there is a large number of both boys and girls in the club\, to have two Club Children’s Officers – one male and one female. \nCost: The cost for this course is €20 per person for clubs in Meath\, for participants outside Meath the cost is €30 per person. \nHow to book: To book a place on this course please call Lynn on 046-9067337 or email lynn.oreilly@meathcoco.ie to check availability of spaces. \n*A laptop/ipad/smart phone along with a good internet connection is required for this course. \nAs demand for places is high\, please make every effort to give enough notice of cancellation. All participants must be aged 16 or over. Participants should ensure that all necessary personal and health insurance is arranged prior to and for the full duration of the course.\n\n\nContents\nThe course is a mix of theory and practical so please bring a pen\, notepad and gear to participate in the sessions. Participants should bring water and a packed lunch.\n\n\nGoals\nThe course is designed to assist parents and coaches\, to introduce children (aged 6-9 years) to fun soccer games and FUNdamental movement skills in a well-structured\, stimulating and safe environment.\n\n\nTarget group\nParents and coaches\n\n\nNote\nAny cancellations must be notified at least 48 hours in advance by email to Coach Education: coached@fai.ie Participants\, who have paid for a course\, shall not be entitled to refund if they are unable to attend a course. Any participant\, who is unable to attend a scheduled course and has informed the Coach Education department of same\, can reschedule to attend the course at a future date\, of the participants choice\, providing that course is not already fully booked. SUMMARY:Winter Initiative - Meath LSP
DESCRIPTION:The Winter Initiative campaign developed by Sport Ireland is a 90-day challenge across November\, December and January encouraging participants to increase their daily activity over the course of the campaign. The main aim of the program is to get as many people active as possible. The challenge requires participants to track their chosen physical activity using minutes of exercises. Participants track their daily activity through a downloadable exercise calendar provided by Meath LSP with the aim of reaching 90 minutes of exercise per week which can be spread across the week or in 2/3 sessions. The challenge will also promote a healthy lifestyle incorporating the 5 ways to wellbeing. \nParticipants who sign up for this initiative will receive the activity tracker calendar as well as weekly motivational messages & exercise tips via email. DESCRIPTION:The third part of the ISC Child Welfare & Protection Training Programme is the Designated Liaison Person workshop. \nEvery club/organisation should designate a person to be responsible for dealing with any concerns about the protection of children. The Designated Liaison Person is responsible for reporting allegations or suspicions of child abuse to TUSLA Child and Family Agency and/or An Garda Siochána. It is recommended that this person is a senior club person. However\, if there is difficulty identifying a separate individual to take this role\, the Club Children’s Officer can be appointed as Designated Liaison Person once the club/organisation is clear about the responsibilities of each role.
