DESCRIPTION:Meath Local Sports Partnership offers a 3-hour basic awareness workshop for leaders within sports clubs/organisations. \n\n\n\nThe workshop will highlight the main principles of the Code and look at measures that clubs can take to create and maintain the safest possible environment for sport for young people.\nAs well as undertaking child protection training\, all clubs are encouraged to adopt child protection policies and procedures as outlined in the Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Children’s Sport.\n\nParticipants attending Safeguarding 1 Basic Awareness workshop must be over 18 years of age to attend. \nThe cost of the course is €25 if you are in a club in Meath and €40 if you are in a club outside of Meath. \nTo book please email mlsp@meathcoco.ie or call 0469067887 \nAs demand for places is high\, please make every effort to give enough notice of cancellation.  \nPlease note that there are no refunds if you fail to give at least 24 hours notice of cancellation.

DESCRIPTION:Date: Wednesday 14th May\nTime:  6.30pm to 10pm\nVenue: MDL grounds\, Trim Rd\, Navan \nThe Sports Injuries First Aid Course is aimed at coaches\, mentors\, teachers\, supervisors\, players\, athletes and volunteers. \nThis course covers a comprehensive range of topics to prepare participants to administer First Aid care. Participants will learn practical skills so that they can deal competently with situations that may arise. \nCourse Content \nThis course has an emphasis on dealing with minor Sports Injuries. \n\nScene Management\nBleeding and Wounds\nTreatment for Shock\nHeart Conditions\nFractures\nSprains & Strains\nUnconsciousness & the Recovery Position\n\nOn Successful Completion Course\, participants are issued with a First Aid Certificate of attendance. SUMMARY:Safeguarding 3 Designated Liaison Person Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The third part of the ISC Child Welfare & Protection Training Programme is the Designated Liaison Person workshop. \nEvery club/organisation should designate a person to be responsible for dealing with any concerns about the protection of children. The Designated Liaison Person is responsible for reporting allegations or suspicions of child abuse to TUSLA Child and Family Agency and/or An Garda Siochána. It is recommended that this person is a senior club person. However\, if there is difficulty identifying a separate individual to take this role\, the Club Children’s Officer can be appointed as Designated Liaison Person once the club/organisation is clear about the responsibilities of each role. The organisation’s child protection policy and procedures should include the name and contact details of the Designated Liaison Person and the responsibilities attached to the role. \nA person appointed to the Designated Liaison Person position in a club must have completed the Basic Awareness Workshop in Child Welfare & Protection and should complete the NEW Designated Liaison Person 3 hour workshop. \nIt is essential that those who wish to attend the Safeguarding 3 Designated Liaison Person (DLP) Training have attended the Safeguarding 1 Child Welfare & Protection Workshop. \n\n\nA club may appoint the same person to both the CCO and DLP positions however best practice advises that they are kept as separate roles. \nCost: The cost for this course is €25 per person for clubs in Meath\, for participants outside Meath the cost is €40 per person. \nTo book: Please contact Lynn on 0469067887 or email loreilly@meathcoco.ie \n*A laptop/ipad/smart phone along with a good internet connection is required for this course. \nAs demand for places is high\, please make every effort to give enough notice of cancellation.
