DESCRIPTION:Meath LSP in partnership with Monaghan\, Louth & Cavan LSPs are running a series of online Sport Ireland Coaching Workshops in October and November. \nThese workshops comprise of the following: \nCoaching Children: \nThis series is a set of four workshops of 3 hours each. \n\nWorkshop 1: Coaching Children Successfully in Sport\nWorkshop 2: Child-Centred Coaching – Understanding Child Development & Learning and its Impact on How We Coach.\nWorkshop 3: Developing Physical Literacy through Sport 1 – Coaching Children to Move.\nWorkshop 4: Developing Physical Literacy through Sport 2 – Coaching Children to Think.\n\nDates: Tuesday 6th\, 13th\, 20th\, 27th of February \nTime: 6:30-9:30pm \nCost: €30 \nRegister: HERE \nCoaching Teenage Girls in Sport:  \nThe 3-hour workshop is designed specifically to support coaches/parents of girls aged 12-17 years of age. SUMMARY:Safeguarding 3 Designated Liaison Person (DLP) Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The third part of the ISC Child Welfare & Protection Training Programme is the Designated Liaison Person workshop. \nEvery club/organisation should designate a person to be responsible for dealing with any concerns about the protection of children. The Designated Liaison Person is responsible for reporting allegations or suspicions of child abuse to TUSLA Child and Family Agency and/or An Garda Siochána. It is recommended that this person is a senior club person. However\, if there is difficulty identifying a separate individual to take this role\, the Club Children’s Officer can be appointed as Designated Liaison Person once the club/organisation is clear about the responsibilities of each role. The organisation’s child protection policy and procedures should include the name and contact details of the Designated Liaison Person and the responsibilities attached to the role. \nA person appointed to the Designated Liaison Person position in a club must have completed the Basic Awareness Workshop in Child Welfare & Protection and should complete the NEW Designated Liaison Person 3 hour workshop. \nIt is essential that those who wish to attend the Safeguarding 3 Designated Liaison Person (DLP) Training have attended the Safeguarding 1 Child Welfare & Protection Workshop. \nA club may appoint the same person to both the CCO and DLP positions however best practice advises that they are kept as separate roles. \nCost: The cost for this course is €25 per person for clubs in Meath\, for participants outside Meath the cost is €40 per person. \nTo book: Please contact Trish on 0469067887 or email mlsp@meathcoco.ie \n*A laptop/ipad/smart phone along with a good internet connection is required for this course. \nAs demand for places is high\, please make every effort to give enough notice of cancellation. SUMMARY:Sports Injuries First Aid Course
DESCRIPTION:Date: Thursday 21st March\nTime:  6.30pm to 10pm\nVenue: MDL grounds\, Trim Rd\, Navan \nThe Sports Injuries First Aid Course is aimed at coaches\, mentors\, teachers\, supervisors\, players\, athletes and volunteers. Anyone wishing to be able to deal with minor sports injuries. \nThis course covers a comprehensive range of topics to prepare participants to administer First Aid care. Participants will learn practical skills so that they can deal competently with situations that may arise. \nCourse Content \nThis course has an emphasis on dealing with minor Sports Injuries. \n\nScene Management\nBleeding and Wounds\nTreatment for Shock\nHeart Conditions\nFractures\nSprains & Strains\nUnconsciousness & the Recovery Position\n\nOn Successful Completion Course\, participants are issued with a First Aid Certificate of attendance.
