Women in Sport Week (7-13th March)

To celebrate Girls & Women in Sport, Meath LSP are linking with National Governing Bodies and local clubs to bring a wide range of taster sessions and programme initiatives during ‘Women in Sport Week’. This is a great opportunity to try out a new sport or get back to a sport you haven’t played for a while. All sporting sessions/initiatives are suitable for all fitness levels. Come & Try Badminton
Fun, Fitness & Footwork 4-week programme starting Monday 7th March. This is a fantastic introduction to badminton in a fun social setting. Suitable for Girls/Women 16+ of all abilities and fitness levels. If you have ever wanted to give Badminton a go or try something new, this programme is just for you. No previous experience required, no equipment necessary, just bring yourself. Registration for this programme is essential but €10 fee will be taken on the first night.

We are delighted to bring Buggy Buddies to 3 areas across the county. Buggy Buddies is a weekly 1-hour exercise session where you bring baby along. Our qualified instructors will introduce a mixture of Resistance, Core and Cardio exercises to suit all abilities and fitness levels. The 6-week programme is a gentle way to ease yourself back into fitness and a great way to meet other mums/dads in the area. We ensure a fun, social environment, where you can exercise and meet others in similar circumstances. Open to parents, grandparents and carers of babies and toddlers in buggies, prams and carriers. Cost for 6 week programme is €20.

Soccer 4 Girls
Ashbourne Late Night Soccer League for girls hosted by FAI & Meath LSP takes place in Ashbourne Community School. This is an ideal opportunity for girls of all ages to try out soccer or increase your soccer skills. In a fun social setting learn new soccer skills, increase fitness in a fun, inclusive environment. CrickHITT is a new training initiative for Girls & Women 16+ that incorporates all the skills of cricket combined with cardio and interval training to increase fitness levels. This is a fun, interactive training session suitable for all ages and fitness levels and a great opportunity to learn the skills of cricket without the pressure of competing.
This six-week programme promotes all elements of fun & fitness and a great social space to meet new people. To register:

Social Basketball for Women – Athboy
Come and Try Social Basketball for Women starting in Athboy on Tuesday 8th March for 6 weeks.
This is an ideal opportunity to try a new sport or revisit a sport that you previously enjoyed. It’s all about playing basketball for fun and fitness and maybe even making new friends along the way. Why not come and try basketball in this non-competitive setting whilst meeting new people and keeping active. Cost €20 for 6 weeks.

Dance for Life 50+ (new evening time in Ashbourne)
Great opportunity for over 50’s to try out Dance for Life in Ashbourne. This very popular dance programme includes a wide range of line dances such as Slow Waltz, Cajun Skip and many more. Come & Try “Dance for Life” and see how it improves your balance, agility, strength and flexibility whilst providing a comfortable social space to meet others and have some fun.
