10k distance added to popular Royal County event

On Bank Holiday Monday May 2nd next, the town of Kells will welcome runners, joggers and walkers for the 6th Royal County Run/walk. This year sees the return of the 5k distance with the added attraction of a new 10k event. Both will start and finish on Canon Street.

The annual Royal County event is organised by Meath Local Sports Partnership  with the support of Club Active, Kells;  Headfort Arms Hotel; Kells Gardai; St Brigid`s AC; Kells Swimming Pool, Kells Municipal District,  Civil Defence and local volunteers. The Royal County 5k/10k run/walk is licensed by the Athletic Association of Ireland.

Registration will open online on Friday 18th March – see www.meathsports.ie ; early bird registration is €10 for 5k distance & €15 for the 10k.  Cost of entry includes t-shirt, refreshments and chip timing. Prizes on the day for 5k & 10k male & female winners.
