Meath Local Sports Partnership offers a 3-hour basic awareness workshop for leaders within sports clubs/organisations.
- The workshop will highlight the main principles of the Code and look at measures that clubs can take to create and maintain the safest possible environment for sport for young people.
- As well as undertaking child protection training, all clubs are encouraged to adopt child protection policies and procedures as outlined in the Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Children’s Sport.
Participants attending Safeguarding 1 Basic Awareness workshop must be over 16 years of age, however, parent/guardian must provide letter granting permission to attend.
*Due to COVID-19, Sport Ireland have set up the Safeguarding 1 Basic Awareness in Child Protection course online.
Courses will now take place via online platform – Zoom. The course is certified, it will have the same content and tutor delivering.
The cost of the course is €20 if you are in a club in Meath and €30 if you are in a club outside of Meath.
