Welcome to the Sports Ability Section of the Meath Local Sports Partnerships website. This section of the website contains all information relevant to people with disabilities, sports and physical activity for people with disabilities in Co. Meath.
The Meath Local Sports Partnership set out in its strategic plan the need to promote and support the inclusion of people with disabilities in sport and physical activity through the development and implementation of a Disability Sport Action Plan. Terry Donegan, the Sports Inclusion Disability Officer is responsible for meeting this Disability Sport Action Plan, leading to a situation where people with learning, sensory and physical disabilities are given additional opportunities to try new activities at recreational and competitive level.
MLSP would encourage any group or individual looking for additional information regarding sport and physical activity for people with disabilities to contact Kate on 046-9067337 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
The SIDO role will see Terry liaising with all the relevant disability groups in Co. Meath in order to ensure that people with disabilities are provided with the opportunity to participate in sport and physical activity. A key component of the SIDO role will be to support existing disability clubs and organisations. Terry will also work to provide coach education programmes and work to create a greater degree of inclusion and accessibility amongst mainstream clubs and facilities.
